Clearing Poeltl’s $42.3 million salary this season is necessary for the Raptors to accommodate Sabonis on their roster. Should Toronto fail to find another team willing to take on Poeltl’s deal, any exchange between Sacramento and Toronto would probably be postponed until the offseason.
