Devin Booker will compete in this year’s State Farm 3-Point Contest during the NBA All-Star weekend, continuing his presence in the event for the fifth time. The contest is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. MST at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on NBC as well as streamed on Peacock.
Booker’s History and Recent Performance in the 3-Point Contest
The Phoenix Suns guard has a strong record in the 3-Point Contest, having won the title in 2018 while setting an NBA record score of 28 points at that time. He last appeared in the contest in 2020, where he finished second to Buddy Hield. Booker was expected to participate in the 2021 event but was unable to attend due to a knee injury that also sidelined him from the All-Star game.
Other Competitors Joining Booker at the Contest
The lineup for this year’s competition features notable players such as Damian Lillard from the Trail Blazers, Tyrese Maxey representing the 76ers, Kon Knueppel of the Hornets, Donovan Mitchell from the Cavaliers, Jamal Murray of the Nuggets, Bobby Portis Jr. from the Bucks, and Norman Powell of the Heat. Lillard stands out as he has not played this season due to an Achilles injury.
Current Season Stats of Participants with Focus on Booker
In the current season, Booker has appeared in 42 games, averaging 25.3 points per game on 45.6% shooting, alongside 6.3 assists and 4 rebounds per game. His 3-point shooting percentage this season is 30.7%, which is the lowest among the contest participants except for Lillard. In contrast, Bobby Portis leads the group in three-point accuracy, shooting 45.1% from beyond the arc.
Booker’s Recent Return and Role in This Year’s All-Star Format
Booker recently returned to play for the Suns after missing seven games due to an ankle sprain. In his comeback game, he delivered 21 points, 9 assists, and 2 rebounds in a 109-103 defeat to the 76ers. Named an All-Star for the fifth time, Booker will compete as part of one of the two USA All-Star teams in a new Round Robin tournament format, which also includes a World team during the All-Star Game on February 15.
