Franz Wagner Injury Update: Return vs. Bucks Looks Likely

The Orlando Magic have won two consecutive games, defeating the Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz, and hope to continue their momentum when they face the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. However, their star forward Franz Wagner remains a question mark due to an ankle injury that has kept him sidelined for the past nine games. The latest update shows Wagner listed as questionable with management focused on his left high ankle sprain as he aims to return soon.

Following the Magic’s recent win over Utah, Wagner shared a brief update on his recovery and expressed hope to play again before the All-Star break.

That’s my hope for sure [to be back before All-Star Break],

Wagner said, according to Orlando Magic Daily.

I think I had two good workouts today and the other gameday. Really just seeing how my foot responds to that.

This season, the 24-year-old forward has appeared in 26 games, averaging 22.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per contest, while shooting an efficient 48.2 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three-point range. Wagner has two more chances to return before the break, including Monday’s game and another matchup against the Bucks on Wednesday.

Despite the cautious optimism, Wagner’s participation remains uncertain as the Magic hold a 27-27 record, placing them seventh in the Eastern Conference.

Overview of the Orlando Magic’s Injury List

Alongside Wagner’s questionable status for Monday’s game, other players from the Magic’s roster are currently sidelined. Colin Castleton is out while assigned to the G League on a two-way contract, leaving the forward corps without additional depth.

Milwaukee Bucks’ Injury Situation Before Monday’s Game

The Bucks are also managing injuries, with key players unavailable. Alex Antetokounmpo remains out on a two-way G League assignment, while stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo are sidelined due to a strained right calf. Additionally, Taurean Prince is recovering from neck surgery and will not participate.
