Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner, who has missed nine consecutive games and 25 of the last 27 due to a left ankle injury, has been designated as questionable for Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. According to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel, Wagner remains optimistic about returning to the court before the All-Star break.
If Wagner does not play on Monday, his next opportunity to return would be Wednesday in a subsequent matchup against Milwaukee.
Moritz Wagner’s Progress and Challenges
Moritz Wagner, Franz’s brother, has participated in 11 of the Magic’s last 12 games after recovering from an ACL injury sustained last month. Despite his return, Moritz admits that regaining full confidence and physical readiness is still a work in progress.
My days are full, my recovery protocol is huge, (and) my confidence is still not at a point where it used to be,
Moritz Wagner said.
This injury is heavy, man. It’s a really long process and it takes a long time, so I have a lot of respect for that.
Implications for the Magic and Upcoming Games
The recovery status of both Wagner brothers remains a key concern for Orlando as they approach crucial games against the Bucks. Franz Wagner’s potential return prior to the All-Star break could provide a significant boost to the team’s lineup, while Moritz’s gradual comeback highlights the ongoing battle athletes face after serious injuries.
“My days are full, my recovery protocol is huge (and) my confidence is still not at a point where it used to be,” #Magic center Moe Wagner said. “This injury is heavy, man. It’s a really long process and it takes a long time so I have a lot of respect for that…”
