Khloé Kardashian recently shared an embarrassing moment involving Tristan Thompson’s attempt at a romantic gesture while they were dating. During the latest episode of her podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land, which aired on February 11, Kardashian revealed that Thompson organized a surprise serenade that left her feeling mortified. The incident occurred at her home when the NBA player enlisted singer Giveon to perform, but Khloé was so upset with Tristan at the time that she reacted by slapping him away.
The reality star pointed out that this event happened several years ago, before the birth of their son Tatum, as she already had their daughter True, who is now seven years old. At the time, she was in her backyard when Tristan asked her to step outside, not knowing what was about to unfold.
Details of the Serenade and Khloé’s Reaction
Khloé recounted the moment vividly on her podcast:
“There was one time I was serenaded, and it was I think just like a random day because I wasn’t expecting it.”
She described that Giveon, who was not yet as famous as he is today, performed a heartfelt song for her, while Tristan tried to sit close to her. However, Khloé was “hating” Tristan at the time and was frustrated by the gesture.
She said,
“Giveon was pouring his heart out. And Tristan’s trying to sit next to me and I’m like, slapping him, and poor Giveon is still singing. It was mortifying.”
Despite her irritation with Tristan, Khloé praised Giveon’s professionalism during the performance and her admiration for him as a singer.

“I was like, ‘God, this guy is such a great singer. I love this guy.’ And I remember going inside to get True because I was like, ‘I just need like a third person to get [away from] Tristan.’ I was so annoyed with Tristan,”
she explained.
The Context of Their Relationship and Current Life
Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were involved on and off from 2016 to 2021. Together, they have two children: True and Tatum. Though Khloé did not disclose the specific reasons for her frustration during the serenade, she has been open about prioritizing her children and choosing to remain single for now.
Reflecting on her life in the recent premiere of the seventh season of The Kardashians, which aired in October, Khloé shared a personal update. She disclosed that she
“had sex in over three years”
and emphasized that she was not communicating romantically with anyone.
“I don’t have any person’s phone number,”
she told her close friend Simon Huck during the episode.
Khloé went on to express how she feels empowered by her current single status, saying,
“I love being 40. Being 40 has been sensational. And I’m thrilled.”
She cited a quote she saw that resonated with her: “Why are you so happy?” with the answer being, “Because I’m not dating.” She added,
“Yes, I actually feel great with that energy right now.”
Khloé’s Focus on Motherhood Over Dating
Throughout her podcast, Kardashian has repeatedly emphasized that her children remain her primary focus. During an episode in January, she stated plainly,
“My kids are … my top priority.”
She expressed no interest in dating at this point in her life, noting,
“I don’t care about dating. I don’t know what will happen in a couple years or next year, I don’t know, but I’m not dating. I don’t care to.”
She continued,
“My focus is on just my kids. To me, I think it’s the smartest thing.”
This perspective highlights Khloé’s dedication to parenting and suggests she prefers to invest her energy in raising True and Tatum rather than pursuing new romantic relationships in the near future.
Professionalism of Singer Giveon During the Serenade
Khloé also fondly recalled Giveon’s composure during the awkward serenade. She shared,
“It was so funny. And [to] this day, if I see Giveon he’ll be like ‘Remember, if I could sing live for you two while you guys were fighting and not [break]’ … Giveon was so professional, he was so great, he didn’t break his song at all. He’s amazing, I love him. But, how awkward for him, poor guy. I love you Giveon.”
This praise reflects her respect for the artist’s talent and professionalism despite the uncomfortable circumstances of his performance.
