Keldon Johnson’s Mural Upgraded to Front Wall Spotlight

SAN ANTONIO — The mural honoring San Antonio Spurs guard Keldon Johnson at Rudy’s Seafood Restaurant on the Southside has been repositioned to a more prominent location. Previously located on the back side of the building, the mural now greets visitors on the restaurant’s front wall, serving as the main visual feature for guests arriving at the popular seafood spot.

The updated mural, painted by local artist Nik Soupe, replaced a long-standing mural of former Spur Jeremy Sochan, marking a new chapter in the celebration of Spurs players in the community.

Fans interested in viewing the mural can visit Rudy’s Seafood at 4122 S. Flores St., San Antonio, where it joins a series of large Spurs-themed wall art installations across the property.

Victor Wembanyama Eyes Participation with Team France

Speaking to BeIN Sports France, Wembanyama expressed his dual hopes for the summer. He wants to help the Spurs reach the NBA Finals but also aims to play for France, showcasing his ambition to balance both commitments.

Of course, that’s absolutely my goal, but I hope I won’t be able to make the first round because that means we (Spurs) went to the NBA Finals,

he said.

For the August window, absolutely, that’s my goal to be there.

Wembanyama’s comments came shortly before the release of an exclusive interview, highlighted by NBAextra, where he shared his thoughts ahead of the All-Star Game.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Wembanyama led Team France to a silver medal, a performance marked by his emotional response after falling short against Team USA. His determination to push Team France toward future gold medals appears fueled by that experience.

Community Impact and Spurs Connection

The relocation of Keldon Johnson’s mural to a prominent spot at Rudy’s Seafood reinforces his growing status within the San Antonio basketball community. The artwork not only celebrates his contributions as a Spurs player but also enhances the cultural vibrancy of the Southside neighborhood. Meanwhile, Wembanyama’s international aspirations highlight the Spurs’ global influence and the players’ dedication to representing their home countries on the world stage.

As fans admire the new mural at 4122 S. Flores St., they can look forward to following both Johnson’s continued impact locally and Wembanyama’s efforts to balance Spurs success with international competition.
