Garett Bolles, the left tackle for the Denver Broncos, received the NFL Players Association’s Alan Page Community Award for 2026 during a press gathering in San Francisco on Tuesday. Bolles earned this honor for his active role in supporting the Bjorem + Bolles Childhood Apraxia Training Center in Parker, Colorado, through his foundation’s efforts.
Foundation’s Role in Supporting Children with Speech Disorders
The award recognized Bolles as the union’s Community MVP in the first week of the regular season because of his foundation’s impact on opening the training center. This facility focuses on educating speech pathologists on how to evaluate and treat childhood apraxia of speech, a disorder that impairs children’s ability to plan and execute speech movements needed for clear communication.
Personal Motivation Behind Bolles’s Involvement
Bolles and his wife became deeply engaged in establishing the center after their son was diagnosed with apraxia. This personal connection fueled their dedication to the cause.
“I’m beyond grateful to not only have my son be the face of it, but to be able to bring in and save as many kids’ lives as possible,”
Bolles said at the event.
This work is deeply personal to me and my wife because of my son, but we believe that every kid deserves to have a voice and a platform to be able to talk and to communicate with their peers.”
Financial Support to Bolles’s Foundation from NFLPA
In honor of Bolles’s achievement and contribution, the NFL Players Association pledged a $100,000 donation to his foundation, aimed at advancing its mission to help children facing speech challenges.
