Brian Gutekunst Praises Jordan Love’s Best Football Down Stretch

The Green Bay Packers entered the 2025 postseason but concluded the year with a difficult five-game losing streak, culminating in a narrow 31-27 loss to the Chicago Bears in the wild card round. This sequence of defeats included a Week 18 game where the Packers rested several starters, though that did little to soften the sting of the early playoff exit.

Gutekunst Highlights Love’s Strong Finish to the Season

Despite the disappointing team outcome, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst shared positive remarks about quarterback Jordan Love’s performance throughout 2025, especially in the crucial final weeks. In a Wednesday press briefing, Gutekunst emphasized Love’s quality play and leadership during the team’s stretch run.

I thought Jordan played really, really good football — some of his best football, especially down the stretch,

Gutekunst said.

I actually thought he was one of our guys that played very, very well down the stretch. Continues to be an unbelievable leader for our football team. I couldn’t speak more highly of what I think about Jordan and where he’s headed.

As good as he’s been for us, I do think he’ll continue to get better because it’s important to him. He works at his craft. He’s always looking for another edge. So, yeah, I feel really good about that.

Jordan Love’s Individual Performance Throughout 2025

At 27 years old, Jordan Love completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,381 yards, throwing 23 touchdowns against six interceptions during 15 regular-season games. His ability to lead four game-winning drives demonstrated his clutch capability. In the postseason contest against the Bears, he recorded 323 yards and four touchdowns on 24 completions from 46 attempts, confirming that Love was not the primary issue in the Packers’ playoff shortcomings.

Looking Ahead: Postseason Success Remains a Goal

Although Love has started for three seasons, Green Bay’s 1-3 postseason record under his leadership shows room for growth. With his strong finish in 2025 earning high praise from Brian Gutekunst, the Packers remain optimistic about Love’s future development and the team’s ability to advance further in the playoffs as they prepare for the 2026 campaign.
