As the New England Patriots prepare for Super Bowl LX in San Francisco, linebacker Robert Spillane was absent from Wednesday’s practice due to an ankle injury. Meanwhile, quarterback Drake Maye, dealing with a shoulder issue, participated fully during the session, offering some reassurance regarding his condition.
Maye sustained the injury in the third quarter of the AFC Championship game when he landed hard on his right shoulder while being tackled. Despite the impact, he remained in the game and continued playing. After missing the Patriots’ last practice at Gillette Stadium and being listed as limited on previous injury reports, Maye reported after Wednesday’s practice that his shoulder “felt good.”
Besides Spillane sitting out, linebacker Harold Landry and offensive tackle Thayer Munford Jr. took part in a limited capacity. Defensive lineman Joshua Farmer, recovering from a hamstring concern, was able to practice fully, and wide receiver Mack Hollins, formerly on the injury list with an abdomen issue, did not appear on the latest report. Running back Terrell Jennings, still on injured reserve due to hamstring and concussion concerns, will remain inactive following his missed activation window.
Player Statuses Reflect Team’s Physical Readiness
Harold Landry’s limited participation is encouraging, as he has battled a knee injury since Week 13 but continues to lead the Patriots with 8.5 sacks, 27 solo tackles, and one forced fumble this season under coach Mike Vrabel’s leadership. His presence, even in a restricted role, remains critical for the defensive unit’s effectiveness.
Seattle Seahawks’ Injury Report Ahead of the Title Game
The Seattle Seahawks reported no non-participants on Wednesday, although eight players practiced with some limitations. Quarterback Sam Darnold was limited due to an oblique injury. Others with restricted participation included tackle Charles Cross (foot), safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle), tackle Josh Jones (ankle, knee), and fullback Robbie Ouzts (neck). Several veterans like linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and defensive end Leonard Williams rested as part of managed workload plans during Super Bowl week.
Looking Ahead to the Championship
Both teams will continue updating injury statuses in the days leading to Sunday’s championship game. The Patriots, appearing in their 12th Super Bowl, aim to secure a seventh title and surpass the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most NFL championships. Their return to the big stage comes for the first time since Super Bowl LIII, bringing heightened focus to player health and readiness as the matchup with the Seahawks approaches.

Asked if he would be limited in practice today:
