A.J. Brown Eagles Future Uncertain Amid Trade Rumors

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed uncertainty regarding whether star wide receiver A.J. Brown will remain with the team beyond the 2026 offseason. Asked directly about Brown’s future with the Eagles, Sirianni avoided providing a definitive answer.

Will A.J. be here next season? I think we’re still in a spot, like, I can’t guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season,

Sirianni said to reporters.

I’m thinking I’m going to be the coach next season but you can’t guarantee anything past tomorrow.

The coach praised Brown as a great player, a good teammate, and a good person, affirming his desire to keep the three-time Pro Bowler in Philadelphia.

General Manager Offers Reserved Comments on Possible Trade

General manager Howie Roseman also remained noncommittal about Brown’s future while emphasizing the rarity of acquiring top-tier talent. Roseman reiterated his previously stated view that

it’s really hard to find great players

, but acknowledged that the organization is open to \emph{considering offers for any player} should they arise.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, as of February 14, the Eagles have yet to make a final decision regarding Brown’s place on the roster. Rival teams believe the Eagles would at least entertain trade discussions, though no firm moves have been made.

A.J. Brown’s Performance and Contract Status

Brown has consistently produced at a high level, registering four consecutive seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. The 28-year-old recently signed a three-year, $96 million contract extension in 2024, which is not yet active. Retaining a player of Brown’s caliber aligns with the Eagles’ ambitions to compete for a Super Bowl.

Despite his on-field productivity, concerns linger regarding Brown’s relationship with the coaching staff. The 2025 season saw ongoing narratives about his satisfaction and interaction with Sirianni, which occasionally frustrated the coach.

Team Dynamics and Potential Future Decisions

Brown has not demonstrated behavior that negatively affects the locker room atmosphere, and his commitment during games has remained consistent. However, the tension around his future led to the involvement of team owner Jeffrey Lurie in resolving internal issues last fall. Given this backdrop, the Eagles may consider moving on from Brown to avoid recurring distractions.

The evolving situation adds complexity to the Eagles’ roster planning, leaving fans and analysts uncertain whether the team will maintain its core receiving talent or pursue new avenues as they prepare for future campaigns.
