DJ Moore Heads to Buffalo Bills in Big NFL Trade Deal

The Buffalo Bills have agreed to a trade that brings wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. This transaction connects Moore once again with offensive coordinator Joe Brady, with whom he previously worked during the 2020 and 2021 seasons for the Carolina Panthers.

Details Surrounding the Trade Agreement

In exchange for Moore, the Chicago Bears will receive a second-round and a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft. The Bills added the fifth-round selection to balance the trade value, while the second-round pick is positioned late in the draft. The trade will only become official once the new NFL league year starts next Wednesday.

Contract and Financial Commitments for DJ Moore

Moore is currently under contract through 2029, with an expected annual salary of $24.5 million starting in 2026. His salary for the 2026 season is fully guaranteed, and $15 million of the 2027 salary is also anticipated to be guaranteed once the league year begins.

According to agent Drew Rosenhaus, the Bills have committed to guaranteeing $15.5 million of Moore’s 2028 salary as well.

Moore’s Performance History with Joe Brady

Originally signing his current contract with Chicago in 2024, Moore previously excelled under Brady’s coordination in Carolina. During their two seasons together, Moore posted consecutive 1,000-yard receiving campaigns and recorded a notable 18.1 yards per reception in 2020, highlighting his ability as a top-level pass catcher.
