Micah Parsons’ Brother Defends Dak Prescott Amid Criticism

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently became the center of controversy after offering advice to wide receiver George Pickens during ongoing contract talks. Pickens, currently under the franchise tag, is negotiating for a long-term deal with the Cowboys as the team undergoes significant restructuring. Prescott encouraged Pickens to concentrate more on his career prospects than on immediate financial gain.

Prescott stated,

“Don’t get in the business mind of this. You played last year for not even that much and now you’re going to get $30M. At the end of the day bet on yourself. He’s a hell of a player. Hopefully, we can get him long-term and sign that.”

The remarks sparked a backlash from fans and analysts who pointed out Prescott’s status as the NFL’s highest-paid player, earning approximately $60 million annually after his 2024 contract extension. Critics accused Prescott of hypocrisy, noting he secured a lucrative deal for himself while advising a fellow player against prioritizing financial security.

Support Comes from Micah Parsons’ Brother Amid the Fallout

Amid the criticism directed at Prescott, Terrence Parsons Jr., brother of Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons and a former teammate of Prescott, stepped forward to defend the quarterback. Micah Parsons, now with the Green Bay Packers, is the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL, earning $47 million per year.

Terrence Parsons Jr. expressed his support on social media, stating,

“He’s not a HYPOCRITE for telling someone to do what HE did lol he bet on hiself,”

followed by,

“And is the highest paid player in the NFL lol what are we doing here lol GP best on himself he’s gonna get 4Oms per year just like dak did when he bet on himself speak on tbe cowboys letting him uo his market value by betting on himself.”

Outlook for Pickens’ Contract and Team Dynamics

The Cowboys concluded their season with a 7-9-1 record, finishing second in the NFC East, despite efforts from Prescott and Pickens to push the team toward a playoff spot. The outcome of George Pickenscontract negotiations remains uncertain as the franchise weighs its strategy moving forward. Prescott’s role in influencing Pickens’ decision and the potential for a long-term deal could impact the team’s future dynamics and roster stability.
