Micah Aaron Parsons (born May 26, 1999) is an American professional football linebacker for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). A first-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, he earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and established himself as one of the league’s premier pass rushers before being traded to Green Bay in 2025.
Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing around 250 pounds, Parsons is known for his rare combination of speed, power and football intelligence. Micah Aaron Parsons was born on May 26, 1999, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He grew up in the Harrisburg area and attended Central Dauphin High School for his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Harrisburg High School, where he started on both sides of the football as a defensive end and running back.
As a senior, Parsons posted 1,239 rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns, tying for ninth in the state of Pennsylvania, while adding 99 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Parsons arrived at Penn State in 2018 and was quickly thrust into action at middle linebacker despite being a true freshman. Early Career (2021)
Parsons signed his four-year rookie contract with the Dallas Cowboys worth approximately $17 million in June 2021. When DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a foot injury before Week 2, Dallas shifted Parsons to his high school position of defensive end, where he made an immediate impact as a pass rusher.
