Maxx Crosby’s Raiders Exit Fueled by Clash with Tom Brady Team

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby was officially traded to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason in a deal that sent two first-round draft picks to the Raiders. The transaction, completed on Friday, occurred under the increasing influence of minority owner Tom Brady. The move surprised many fans, coming amid reports of internal conflicts involving Crosby and members of Brady’s health and wellness team.

Reports Reveal Friction Between Crosby and Tom Brady’s Wellness Coordinator

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, underlying tensions played a significant role in prompting the Raiders to trade their five-time Pro Bowler. Crosby reportedly clashed with Alex Guerrero, the Raiders’ wellness coordinator and a longtime trainer and business partner of Tom Brady, resulting in strained relations within the organization.

“Crosby had already been having issues with wellness coordinator Alex Guerrero, and therefore with Brady, as Guerrero trained Brady for most of his career before they became business partners in a health and wellness brand,” Tafur wrote.

Earlier reports from NFL insider Mike Silver echoed these sentiments, highlighting Crosby’s frustration with Guerrero’s presence in team operations. Guerrero, known for his close ties to Brady, regularly attended practices and meetings and wielded considerable influence, which reportedly created tension with some players and staff.

“Like many players and coaches, Crosby was frustrated by the presence of Alex Guerrero, a staunch Brady ally whose official title is wellness coordinator,” Silver wrote. “Guerrero, who regularly attends practices and meetings, purports to possess significant organizational power, informing players of impending transactions and even indicating to staff members who don’t follow his instructions that their jobs may be at risk.”

Injury and Frustrations Add Strain During 2025 Season

Maxx Crosby’s final season in Las Vegas was marred by a knee injury that sidelined him for the last two games of the 2025 campaign. While Crosby recorded a solid 73 tackles and 10 sacks, the team’s overall performance was disappointing, finishing with a 3-14 record. Reports indicate that Crosby was unhappy with how the team handled his injury, further complicating his relationship with the Raiders organization.

Crosby Reflects on Emotional Farewell After Seven Seasons in Las Vegas

On the Saturday episode of The Rush podcast, Maxx Crosby addressed his departure from the Raiders, sharing heartfelt sentiments about his time in Las Vegas and the challenges he faced. He expressed pride in his commitment while also acknowledging a sense of disappointment.

“One thing I could say above all else is that I gave you all everything I got, and I have no regrets about that,” Crosby said. “I put everything into trying to win as a Raider. … I’m not trying to get emotional already, but it’s tough, man, it’s been a damn journey since the day I got drafted. …

“Ever since I’ve been here, I had one goal and mission and that’s to become the best version of myself and help bring a championship back to the Raider organization. And I feel like I left everything on the table for this team. I’ve given my heart and soul, and I feel like I let y’all down man.”

During his seven seasons with the Raiders, Crosby reached the playoffs only once, during the 2021 season, when the team lost in a wild-card round against the Cincinnati Bengals.

What This Trade Means for the Raiders and Ravens Moving Forward

Maxx Crosby’s trade signals a significant shift in the Raiders’ roster dynamics, influenced in part by off-field disagreements tied to the team’s evolving leadership under Tom Brady’s minority ownership. For the Ravens, acquiring a proven defensive end like Crosby could bolster their defense as they aim to improve their postseason prospects. Meanwhile, the Raiders will look to leverage their two first-round picks to rebuild or reinforce other positions.

This move also highlights how interpersonal conflicts and wellness strategies can impact team compositions and player careers in today’s NFL. As Maxx Crosby embarks on this new chapter with Baltimore, the Raiders face a critical period of transition amid evolving organizational strategies and leadership styles.
