The Chicago Bears announced the signing of defensive end Kentavius Street on Tuesday, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. This move adds a seasoned defensive player to the Bears’ roster ahead of the upcoming seasons.
Career and Recent Team History of Kentavius Street
Kentavius Street, 29, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers after playing college football at N.C. State. He completed his initial four-year rookie contract amounting to $3,070,200, which included a $610,200 signing bonus.
After his time with the 49ers, Street signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints in 2022. He then joined the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal in 2023 but was traded midseason to the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons extended his contract with two consecutive one-year agreements covering 2024 and 2025.
During the 2025 season, Street appeared in seven games for Atlanta, tallying 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks, demonstrating consistent defensive productivity.
Impact of the Signing on the Bears and Future Prospects
Bringing Kentavius Street onto their defense provides the Bears with a versatile and experienced player who has proven his ability to contribute both as a pass rusher and a run defender. His past performances with the Falcons, Saints, and Eagles showcase his adaptability and value in various defensive schemes. This signing could strengthen the Bears’ defensive line rotation as they prepare for future campaigns.
