Ducks’ Petr Mrazek Out for Season After Hip Surgery

The Anaheim Ducks have confirmed that goaltender Petr Mrazek will not return this season after undergoing hip surgery on Tuesday. The 34-year-old Czech native, acquired from the Detroit Red Wings this summer, will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

Mrazek’s Performance and Career Overview

Mrazek appeared in 10 games for the Ducks this year, recording a 3-5-0 record with a 4.07 goals-against average and an .858 save percentage. Over more than 400 NHL games spanning six different teams, Mrazek holds a career record of 183-181-40 with 26 shutouts, maintaining a 2.87 GAA and .905 save rate.

Ducks’ Status and Upcoming Schedule

The Ducks paused their season for the Olympic break with a 30-23-3 record, placing third in the Pacific Division. They are set to resume play on February 25 when they host the Edmonton Oilers, aiming to build on their recent two-game winning streak before the hiatus.

Implications for Anaheim Moving Forward

With Mrazek sidelined, the Ducks will rely on their remaining goaltenders as they push toward the playoffs. His absence poses a challenge but also an opportunity for the team to adjust and maintain momentum as they navigate the second half of the season.
