Radek Faksa Injury Update: 99% Chance He’ll Play Next Week

Dallas Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan provided a positive update on forward Radek Faksa, stating there is a 99% chance Faksa will be in the lineup when the NHL season resumes next week. The Stars are scheduled to play at home against the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday.

Details of Faksa’s Olympic Injury and Absence

Faksa suffered an upper-body injury during Czechia’s final group stage game against Switzerland at the Winter Olympics, after participating in their first three matches. Following this injury, Faksa missed the subsequent overtime loss to Canada, which resulted in Czechia’s elimination from the tournament.

Faksa’s Olympic Experience and Performance This Season

The 25-year-old forward, in his first Olympic appearance, was among seven Dallas Stars players competing in the men’s tournament. Of those seven, Faksa is the only one sent home due to injury. He has contributed one goal and 15 assists in 56 games for Dallas during the NHL season.

Impact of Faksa’s Potential Return

Coach Gulutzan noted that Faksa likely would have played in the Olympic semifinal if Czechia had advanced. Faksa’s return is expected to strengthen the Stars as they continue their campaign this season, providing valuable depth and experience to the roster.
