Brady Tkachuk, forward for Team USA, recently expressed his gratitude after meeting President Donald Trump during the United States men’s national ice hockey team’s visit to the White House on Tuesday. The occasion celebrated their Olympic gold medal victory following a thrilling 2-1 overtime win against Canada in the 2026 Winter Olympics final, marking the first men’s hockey gold for the U.S. since 1980.

Invited personally by President Trump to continue honoring their achievement, Tkachuk described the visit as an incredible moment that felt both exhilarating and fleeting.

“I mean, it was awesome. Just have that opportunity, extremely grateful and blessed to be in this position. It almost went by so fast…it truly was an unbelievable experience,” Brady said.

Matthew Tkachuk Shares Pride in Representing the Nation

Brady’s brother, Matthew Tkachuk, who has visited the White House three times, reflected on the team’s call with President Trump in the dressing room and conveyed a deep sense of pride in representing their country during this historic moment.

“It was super cool, it was an honor hearing from the president of the United States, hearing he was supporting us,” Matthew Tkachuk said.

“We are definitely honored to represent him and hundreds of millions across the country, and to bring the gold medal back.”
