Notably, the Procore Tournament in Napa was canceled after its title sponsor withdrew, leaving Pebble Beach as Northern California’s sole PGA Tour stop in 2026. “I was kind of sad to see Napa go,”
adding,
“It was a lot of fun playing there this last fall. I mean, there are so many great courses up here, so it’s kind of a no-brainer. Especially with the weather. It’s great.”
The PGA Tour is also considering shortening future seasons, increasing pressure on remaining tournaments. Despite recent declines in ticket sales over the past three years, the San Francisco Chronicle reports a 19% increase in attendance this year at Pebble Beach. Tournament officials are eager to preserve the event’s place in the tour cycle.

“I believe in raising the bar every single year,”
and continued,
“Our staff, that’s our mindset, is that we have to constantly improve the greatest experience for our fans specifically. So they want to come back every single year.”
One of the most notable changes is the prize purse jump from $9 million to $20 million, intended to attract top-tier professional golfers and elevate the tournament’s profile. This financial boost signals Pebble Beach’s determination to remain a central event on the PGA Tour.
