New Jersey 5s Pickleball Triumph: The New Jersey 5s claimed a 3-1 win over the Brooklyn Pickleball Team on Sunday at Belknap Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, during the Edward Jones Major League Pickleball Mid-Season Tournament. The victory gave the 5s their third win of the event, while Brooklyn ended the day with one win.
Strong Start by New Jersey 5s
The New Jersey 5s opened the match with a win in women’s doubles. Anna Leigh Waters and Meghan Dizon defeated Rachel Rohrabacher and Jackie Kawamoto 11-7.
In the men’s doubles match, Will Howells and Zane Navratil kept the momentum going by beating AJ Koller and Riley Newman 11-6, putting the 5s ahead 2-0.

Brooklyn’s Mixed Doubles Comeback
The Brooklyn Pickleball Team fought back in the first mixed doubles match. AJ Koller and Rachel Rohrabacher pulled off a close win, beating Meghan Dizon and Zane Navratil 12-10 to cut the 5s’ lead.
However, the New Jersey 5s sealed the match in the second mixed doubles game. Anna Leigh Waters and Will Howells won 11-4 over Riley Newman and Jackie Kawamoto, giving their team the third and final point.
