MLP CEO Bruce Popko Steps Down: Who Takes Over?

MLP CEO Bruce Popko Steps Down: On August 16, Major League Pickleball (MLP) revealed that CEO Bruce Popko will be leaving the organization at the end of this month. His departure marks the end of a 16-month tenure during which Popko guided the league through a significant growth phase.

In the wake of Popko’s exit, the UPA Executive team will step in to manage his responsibilities. The UPA has already begun the process of seeking key hires to handle crucial aspects of the league, including relations with MLP’s Board of Governors, the on-court product, rules, committees, and media rights.

Popko expressed his sentiments in a statement:

“Working with MLP was an extremely rewarding opportunity and I wish continued success to the great MLP and PPA staff, team owners, players, and sponsors as the sport continues its tremendous growth. While I will miss everyone, I am excited for the next round of opportunities outside pickleball.”
