Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher Advance to Women’s Doubles Final at 2025 Veolia Cape Coral Open

Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher: The 2025 Veolia Cape Coral Open is set for an electrifying finish as the top women’s doubles teams prepare for Championship Sunday. The tournament, a premier stop on the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour, has featured intense competition at the Lake Kennedy Racquet Center in Cape Coral, Florida.

Bright and Rohrabacher Stay Composed to Secure Victory

No. 2 seeds Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher clinched their spot in the women’s doubles final with an 11-2, 13-11 win over No. 7 seeds Vivienne David and Jackie Kawamoto.

Bright and Rohrabacher dominated the opening game, with Bright effectively attacking up the line at David, allowing them to secure a comfortable 11-2 victory.

However, Game 2 proved far more challenging. David and Kawamoto came out strong, jumping to a 7-1 lead. David countered shots more effectively, while Kawamoto’s aggressive roll dinks at the kitchen line put Bright and Rohrabacher on the defensive.

Despite the deficit, Bright and Rohrabacher rallied back, saving a game point at 8-10 before ultimately closing out the match in two games.

Rohrabacher on Adjusting to the Opponent’s Momentum

Following the match, Rohrabacher discussed the team’s adjustments when David and Kawamoto raised their level of play.

“They definitely started raising their level a lot in the second set, and it took us a little bit to get going,” Rohrabacher said. “We kind of changed our game plan a little bit when they started getting hot because it felt like Jackie was roping us around a little bit, so we had to put a stop to that.”

Final Showdown: Fourth Meeting Against Waters and Parenteau

With this win, Bright and Rohrabacher will face No. 1 seeds Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau in the final for the fourth time this year. Their most recent battle in Mesa went to five games, with Waters and Parenteau emerging victorious.

Sunday’s final in Cape Coral promises another intense clash between two of the best women’s doubles teams in the sport.
