During his high school career, he demonstrated his kicking prowess by making significant contributions to his football team. In 2014, as a sophomore, he made four of six field goal attempts, with a long of 44 yards, and successfully converted nine out of ten extra-point attempts. His performance improved each year, culminating in a senior season where he made 13 of 23 field goal attempts and all 49 of his PATs.
