Early Life and Background

Ben Harpur was raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, where he developed a passion for hockey at a young age. He attended A. N. Myer Secondary School, where he honed his skills on the ice. Initially, Harpur played as a left-winger, but a coach suggested he transition to defence, a decision that would shape his future in the sport. He was called up to the NHL and made his debut against the Minnesota Wild on March 31, 2016. During the 2016–17 season, he played primarily with Binghamton but was called up for the NHL playoffs, making his playoff debut on April 17, 2017, against the Boston Bruins.

Breakthrough (2017–2020)

Harpur’s breakthrough moment came on December 1, 2018, when he scored his first NHL goal against the San Jose Sharks. This goal marked a significant milestone in his career. On July 1, 2019, he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he faced challenges in securing a spot on the roster, leading to a reassignment to the AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.
