Brandon Scott Aubrey (born March 14, 1995) is an American multi-sport athlete who plays as a placekicker for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He has played professional soccer as a center back. Aubrey has emerged as one of the league’s top placekickers, ranking as the third-most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history, while holding the NFL record for the most career field goals made from 60 yards or longer.
Early Life and Background
Brandon Aubrey was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Plano, Texas. He attended Plano High School, where he began his athletic journey. Aubrey played youth soccer with the Dallas Texans SC, where he captained the ’95 team from 2008 to 2010. During his time with the team, they achieved significant success, winning five State Cup titles and various championships. He was recognized for his talent and was named to the USSDA All-Select Team in 2011-12. Aubrey later played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Dallas Jesuit in Dallas, where he earned All-District honors. He continued his athletic career by attending the University of Notre Dame, where he played college soccer from 2013 to 2016.
Path to American Football
After completing his college soccer career, Aubrey was selected in the first round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC. He played for the club’s reserve team, Toronto FC II, before moving to Bethlehem Steel FC. However, after being released from Bethlehem Steel FC in 2018, Aubrey decided to pursue a career in American football. He began training as a placekicker in 2019, working with former Mississippi State kicker Brian Egan. Aubrey’s dedication to the sport paid off when he was drafted by the Birmingham Stallions in the 2022 USFL draft, marking his transition to professional American football.

Brandon Aubrey made his professional debut as a placekicker for the Birmingham Stallions on April 16, 2022. He played in all ten games during the season, making 18 of his 22 field goal attempts and leading the league in both field goals and extra points. In July 2023, Aubrey signed with the Dallas Cowboys after the Stallions terminated his contract. He made an immediate impact in the NFL, connecting on both of his field goal attempts and four of five extra-point attempts in his debut game against the New York Giants. His standout performances continued throughout the season, including a notable game against the Los Angeles Rams, where he scored 11 points and made a 58-yard field goal. Aubrey set an NFL record for the most consecutive field goals made to start a career with his 19th attempt. He also became the first kicker in NFL history to make two field goals from 59+ yards in a single game.
