Creed Humphrey Bio
Creed Humphrey (born June 28, 1999) is an American professional football center for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners, where he was named the Big 12 Conference’s offensive lineman of the year in 2019 and 2020. He was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft.
Early Life and Background
Creed Humphrey was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He attended Shawnee High School, where he played both center and defensive line on the football team. During his high school career, Humphrey participated in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Game and was recognized as a highly-touted prospect, earning a four-star rating from 247Sports. He was ranked 294th overall in his recruiting class, making him the 5th-best prospect from Oklahoma and the 3rd-best center in the country. Humphrey received nineteen scholarship offers from various programs, including Alabama, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. Initially, he committed to Texas A&M but later decommitted and signed a National Letter of Intent with Oklahoma. He is also Indigenous Potawatomi and a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
Path to American Football
Humphrey redshirted his first year at the University of Oklahoma in 2017. He played in all 14 games with 12 starts in 2018, showcasing his potential as a key player. He returned as the starting center for Oklahoma in both 2019 and 2020, earning the title of Big 12 Conference’s offensive lineman of the year in those seasons. Following the 2020 season, Humphrey declared for the 2021 NFL draft, forgoing his final year of eligibility.

Creed Humphrey was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2021 NFL draft. By the midway point of the 2021 season, Pro Football Focus recognized Humphrey as a mid-season All-Rookie and All-Pro player.
