Early Life and Background

Drew Thomas Rasmussen was born on July 27, 1995. He attended Mt. Spokane High School in Mead, Washington, where he began to develop his skills as a baseball player. Following high school, he played college baseball for the Oregon State University Beavers. During his freshman year, Rasmussen made headlines by pitching a perfect game, the only one in the team’s history, against Washington State on March 21, 2015.

Path to Baseball

Rasmussen was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 39th round of the 2014 MLB draft but chose to continue his education and baseball career at Oregon State University. He was later drafted 31st overall in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft by the Tampa Bay Rays but did not sign immediately. Unfortunately, he underwent his second Tommy John surgery in September 2017, which forced him to miss the entire 2018 season. Despite this setback, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round of the 2018 MLB draft.
