Early Life and Background
Glenn Gawdin was born on March 25, 1997, in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Growing up, he began playing hockey through the Seafair Minor Hockey Association. His early exposure to the sport laid the foundation for his future career. In 2009, Gawdin played with the Richmond Blues, a minor ice hockey team, where he showcased his talent by scoring a hat-trick and earning the PeeWee-A MVP award. At the age of 15, he played major midget hockey with the Greater Vancouver Canadians while attending McRoberts Secondary School. During this time, he was drafted fifth overall by the Swift Current Broncos in the 2012 WHL bantam draft, marking a significant step in his hockey journey.
Path to Hockey
Gawdin’s transition to the Western Hockey League (WHL) began when he signed with the Swift Current Broncos. He made his WHL debut during the 2012–13 season, playing two games and scoring 25 points in 18 games with the Greater Vancouver Canadians. Over the next few seasons, he became a key player for the Broncos, eventually being named captain prior to the 2016–17 season. His leadership was recognized when he was voted Team MVP at the end of that season. Gawdin’s performance peaked during the 2017–18 season, where he scored 56 goals and 69 assists, leading the Broncos to the 2018 Memorial Cup and earning the WHL Playoffs MVP award.

Early Career (2018–2021)
Gawdin began his professional career after being drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 2015. He attended the Calgary Flames training camp in 2018 and was reassigned to their AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat. He made the Heat’s opening night roster for the 2018–19 season and recorded his first professional goal on October 6, 2018. In the 2019–20 season, he was named the representative for the Stockton Heat at the AHL All-Star Classic. Gawdin made his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames on February 20, 2021, and registered his first NHL point with an assist on May 9, 2021.
Breakthrough (2022–Present)
After four seasons with the Calgary Flames organization, Gawdin signed a two-year, $1.525 million contract with the Anaheim Ducks on July 13, 2022. He began the 2022–23 season with the San Diego Gulls, the Ducks’ AHL affiliate. Gawdin made his Ducks debut on November 6, 2022, and played in several games before returning to the Gulls. In March 2024, he was recalled by the Ducks and made his NHL season debut in a game against the Ottawa Senators. Following the season, Gawdin signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Los Angeles Kings on July 1, 2024, and was assigned to the Ontario Reign for the 2024–25 season.
