Born on August 23, 2000, in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, she played college basketball at Ohio State where she achieved multiple accolades. In 2024, she was drafted fifth overall by the Dallas Wings, marking her entry into the WNBA. Sheldon is also recognized for her contributions off the court, serving as the Director of Player Development at Ohio State while actively participating in her professional career.

Jacy Sheldon grew up in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, where she began her basketball journey at Dublin Coffman High School. During her junior year, she faced a setback when she suffered a concussion in a car accident, which sidelined her from the sport for several weeks. Despite this challenge, she excelled in her junior season, averaging 26.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5.2 steals per game. She was recognized as the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Division I Co-Player of the Year alongside Kierstan Bell. She was appointed as the Director of Player Development for the Ohio State Buckeyes women’s basketball team in November 2024, allowing her to mentor young athletes while continuing her professional career in the WNBA. In August 2024, she signed a signature shoe deal with HOLO Footwear, which includes an equity stake in the company. Her first signature shoe, the JS:01, is set to be released to the public in July 2025.
