Joan Beringer was born in Sélestat, France, where he spent the first ten years of his life before moving to Strasbourg. Initially, he played football and had never touched a basketball until the summer of 2021. At around 14 to 15 years old, he struggled to find football cleats in his size, which led him to try basketball after encouragement from friends.
