Jordan Tyler Swing was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Rick and Linda Swing. He grew up alongside a brother, Josh, and a sister, Danielle, in a family that supported his early love of basketball. Swing later moved to Alabama, where he attended Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia Hills and suited up for coach George Hatchett.

Path to Basketball
Jordan Tyler Swing enrolled at Western Kentucky University in 2009 and spent his freshman season with the Hilltoppers during 2009–10. He appeared in 22 games, averaging 2.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per contest, with a season-high 11 points against South Alabama on February 18, 2010.
On June 30, 2010, Western Kentucky announced that Swing would not return to the program for 2010–11. He transferred back home to Alabama and joined the UAB Blazers, sitting out the 2010–11 season under NCAA transfer rules. Jordan Tyler Swing’s professional debut came with the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League in 2014–15. He made his first appearance on November 15 in the season opener, scoring 12 points with four steals off the bench in a 109–106 triple-overtime loss to the Delaware 87ers. The Charge waived him on January 14, 2015, and in 11 games he averaged 4.0 points on .455 shooting with 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 13.8 minutes per game.

Jordan Tyler Swing signed with Hapoel Be’er Sheva of the Israeli Premier League on July 12, 2018, and enjoyed his strongest domestic campaign to that point. In 36 league games, he averaged 15.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, helping the club reach the 2019 Israeli League playoffs, where they were eliminated in the quarter finals by Hapoel Jerusalem.
