Marcus Davenport was born in San Antonio, Texas. He attended John Paul Stevens High School, where he played high school football. Despite his talent, he was barely recruited out of high school and chose to play college football for the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) over the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Davenport graduated from UTSA in 2017.
