Early Life and Background
Luther grew up in Arcadia, Florida, and attended Port Charlotte High School in nearby Port Charlotte. A four-year starter on the gridiron, he also lettered in track and field during his time in high school. As a senior, Luther produced 724 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns while adding 262 rushing yards and six additional scores on the ground. Coming out of Port Charlotte, Luther was viewed as a versatile athlete capable of contributing as a receiver, runner, and returner. His ability to impact the game in multiple ways became a defining trait during his formative years and shaped the role he would later play at the college level. He split his college career between two programs, gaining experience at the FCS and Big South levels before pursuing a professional opportunity.
Path to Professional Football
Luther began his college career at Wofford, where he appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2018 and earned one start at wide receiver. During the 2019 season, he played in ten games with seven starts and produced 447 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 19 catches, along with 45 rushing yards and 357 kickoff return yards.
After the 2020-21 season, in which he started four games and posted six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown before opting out, Luther announced on April 2, 2021, that he was entering the transfer portal. He transferred to Gardner–Webb, where he immediately became the team’s primary kickoff return man during the 2021 season, catching 23 passes for 384 yards and four touchdowns. His senior year in 2022 was his most productive, as he played in 12 games and recorded 55 receptions for 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns, earning First-team All-Big South honors.
