Realizing he needed to start at a junior college due to not having taken the SAT or ACT tests, he enrolled at West Hills College Coalinga in California for the 2016 season. There, he transitioned to playing tight end and made an immediate impact, recording 15 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns, which earned him all-conference honors. After one season, he transferred to Garden City Community College in Kansas, but his progress was hindered by a foot injury that caused him to redshirt. In 2018, he joined the Eastern Michigan Eagles, where he played four seasons and became a key player, mainly serving as a blocker. Odukoya played a total of 40 games for Eastern Michigan, finishing his college career with 21 catches for 194 yards and four touchdowns.
