Early Life and Background

Travis Bell was born on October 27, 1998, in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Jefferson Davis High School, where he excelled in football, earning four varsity letters. During his high school career, Bell recorded an impressive 20 sacks and 229 tackles, including 80 tackles and 9 sacks in his senior year alone. His performance helped lead Jefferson Davis to playoff appearances in his final two seasons. In addition to his athletic achievements, Bell maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in his last semester, showcasing his dedication both on and off the field. After high school, he committed to play college football for the Kennesaw State Owls, where he would further develop his skills.

Path to American Football

At Kennesaw State, Travis Bell quickly made an impact, starting as a true freshman and compiling 24 tackles. His contributions helped the team reach the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. In his sophomore season, he played in 13 games, starting in eight, and was part of a defense that ranked third nationally in total defense. Bell recorded 30 tackles, 5 sacks, and 9 tackles-for-loss during that season. His college career was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which postponed the 2020 season to spring 2021. Early Career (2023)

Travis Bell was selected in the seventh round (218th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, making him the first player in Kennesaw State’s history to be drafted. He was waived by the Bears on August 29, 2023, but was re-signed to their practice squad shortly thereafter. His tenure with the Bears was brief, as he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons off the practice squad on November 1, 2023. However, he was released by the Falcons on December 19, 2023.

Breakthrough (2024)

On December 19, 2023, Travis Bell was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals. His time with the Bengals was short-lived, as he was waived during final roster cuts on August 27, 2024. Shortly after, he returned to the Chicago Bears, signing with their practice squad on September 26, 2024, but was released again on October 15, 2024. Bell’s journey continued when he signed with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on November 6, 2024, and later signed a reserve/future contract with the Vikings on January 16, 2025.
