Tyreik McAllister is an American professional football wide receiver. He played college football for the Charleston Golden Eagles and was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2023 and currently plays for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Early Life and Background
Tyreik McAllister was born on April 7, 1998, in Latta, South Carolina. He attended Latta High School, where he participated in football, basketball, and track. McAllister was recognized as an all-conference football player during his time at Latta High School and later spent a postgraduate season at Palmetto Prep in Columbia, South Carolina. McAllister enrolled at the University of Charleston, a NCAA Division II school, where he began his collegiate football career as a freshman in 2017.
Path to American Football
During his freshman year at the University of Charleston, Tyreik McAllister made a significant impact on the field, running seven times for 23 yards, catching 22 passes for 193 yards, and returning 13 kicks for 242 yards. In 2018, he continued to develop his skills, catching 20 passes for 276 yards and one touchdown while also running five times for 35 yards. His performance in 2019 earned him first-team All-Mountain East Conference honors, as he rushed for 1,119 yards and 11 touchdowns in just 10 games. McAllister’s senior season in 2021 was particularly impressive, as he led the conference in rushing yards and touchdowns, culminating in a total of 2,561 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns throughout his collegiate career.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Tyreik McAllister signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. He faced challenges early in his professional career, being waived/injured on August 10, 2022, and placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. Despite these setbacks, he was signed to the Broncos practice squad later that year.
Breakthrough (2023)
In June 2023, Tyreik McAllister signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. He made a notable impact during the season, appearing in 16 games and establishing himself as a top special teams player. McAllister’s performance included 13 rushes for 52 yards, 27 catches for 364 yards and two touchdowns, and impressive kick return statistics. Following his successful season in the CFL, Tyreik McAllister signed a reserve/future contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on January 16, 2024.
