Early Life and Background

Yegor Sharangovich was born on June 6, 1998, in Minsk, Belarus. He began playing hockey at a young age, developing his skills with Dinamo-Raubichi Minsk at the under-20 level. He also played in the second-tier Vysshaya Liga, which is an affiliate of the top Belarusian club, HC Dinamo Minsk. His talent was recognized in North America when he was drafted 252nd overall by the Youngstown Phantoms in the 2017 USHL Entry Draft. However, he chose to continue his development in Belarus.

Path to Hockey

Sharangovich made his professional debut with Dinamo Minsk during the 2017–18 season, where he appeared in 47 games, scoring 4 goals and 12 points. His performance caught the attention of scouts, leading to his selection as an overage pick by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
