Hunter reached a peak national ranking of No. 15 in doubles and No. 30 in singles during his college career.

After graduation, he pursued a professional tennis career focusing on doubles, notching 14 professional titles—including 13 ITF Futures and 1 ATP Challenger title—with wins over players such as Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime. Known for his aggressive serve, solid net play, and quick reflexes, Hunter has consistently excelled in major tournaments. He finished 4th in singles at the National Championships two years running and has been drafted in the Premier division of MLP, representing the Atlanta Bouncers and currently the LA Mad Drops.

Hunter won his first PPA singles title at the CIBC Atlanta Slam in September 2024. In 2025, he continued his medal run with gold at the PPA Proton Tucson Open and reached the finals in mixed doubles at the Stratusphere Gin Virginia Beach Cup, showcasing his versatility.
