Brent Crews Bio
Brent Anderson Crews (born March 30, 2008) is an American professional dirt track, sports car, and stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes part-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, driving the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing, and also runs selected NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events in the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Tricon Garage. Crews has drawn national attention for becoming the youngest champion in multiple racing series, including the Trans-Am Series, and for piling up championships and victories at an unusually young age. A member of Toyota Racing Development’s TRD driver development program, he is widely viewed as one of the most promising young talents in American motorsports.
Early Life and Background
Brent Crews was born on March 30, 2008, in Hickory, North Carolina, and grew up surrounded by the rich racing culture of the southeastern United States. He began racing go-karts at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina, at a young age, with his family supporting his early progression through the grassroots ranks. That home base in the Carolinas kept him close to many of the short tracks and karting facilities where young American drivers typically cut their teeth.
His competitive karting career took off quickly. In 2016, Crews competed in the United States Pro Kart Series rookie class and won the championship. He followed that up by winning the IAME International World Finals in 2017 and 2018, a Micro MAX World Championship at the Rotax Max Challenge in Brazil in 2018, and a SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals victory in Mini Swift. In 2019, he added a second straight SuperNationals win in the KA100 Junior division, and in 2021 he became the youngest National Champion in the KZ Pro Shifter Class, bringing his total national championship count to twelve.
Path to NASCAR
Alongside his karting career, Crews moved into outlaw karts in 2016, climbing from Box Stocks all the way to the Open Class. In 2019, he became the first driver to win in every outlaw kart class at Millbridge Speedway and added a win in the Outlaw Kart Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa. In March 2021, it was announced that he would run full-time in the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, driving the No. 86 Toyota for CB Industries. He scored his first win that season at Valley Speedway, becoming the youngest driver ever to win a POWRi National Midget Series race at 13 years old, and added further victories at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, Jacksonville Speedway, and Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex.
Crews then transitioned into the SCCA Trans-Am TA2 ProAm Series with Nitro Motorsports in 2022. He earned his first pole and win at Road America, becoming the youngest Trans-Am Series winner at 14 years, three months, and four days, and added wins at the Music City Grand Prix and Virginia International Raceway. Returning to Nitro in 2023, he won at NOLA Motorsports Park, the Detroit Street Circuit, Road America, and Watkins Glen, clinching the TA2 championship at Circuit of the Americas as the youngest champion in TA2 history at 15 years, seven months, and three days.
Brent Crews Career
Early Career (2016–2021)
Crews’ earliest competitive results came in karting, where he built the foundation for everything that followed. His 2016 United States Pro Kart Series rookie title marked him as a standout, and his back-to-back IAME International World Finals wins in 2017 and 2018 established him on an international stage. The 2021 KZ Pro Shifter Class National Championship confirmed that he could compete and win against the country’s best shifter-kart drivers before his teen years were over.
At the same time, Crews was building a dirt track résumé. He raced outlaw karts across the country, won every class available to him at Millbridge Speedway by 2019, and captured the Outlaw Kart Nationals in Knoxville. His 2021 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series campaign with CB Industries turned those grassroots lessons into open-wheel victories on bullrings and dirt ovals, including his record-setting first win at Valley Speedway.
Trans-Am Series Breakthrough (2022–2024)
Crews’ move to the SCCA Trans-Am TA2 ProAm Series with Nitro Motorsports quickly produced history. His pole and win at Road America in 2022 made him the youngest Trans-Am Series winner in record books, and his runner-up finish in the championship that season showed he could compete for titles, not just single races. Returning to Nitro in 2023, he won four more races and clinched the championship at Circuit of the Americas, becoming the youngest champion in TA2 history.
In 2024, Crews added three more Trans-Am wins in only five starts, leading the series in wins since he had joined. His Trans-Am résumé, which features multiple poles, consistent front-running pace, and championship-level results against older, more experienced sports car drivers, established him as one of the most decorated young road course talents in North America.
Late Models and ARCA (2022–2025)
Crews made his late model debut in 2022 with Donnie Wilson Motorsports in the CARS Pro Late Model Tour at Caraway Speedway, then expanded into the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour in 2024. He captured the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway in his first Super Late Model start, finished first in the point standings with two wins and a 2.0 average finish, and tied for the CARS Tour LMSC wins lead with victories at Orange County Speedway, Caraway Speedway, and Ace Speedway. His 2024 CARS Tour LMSC Rookie of the Year award capped that breakout stock car season.
On August 10, 2023, Venturini Motorsports announced that Crews would make his ARCA Menards Series debut at Watkins Glen, where he finished third. Later that season, he won at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, becoming the second-youngest ARCA winner. On January 8, 2025, Joe Gibbs Racing announced a part-time ARCA program across all three ARCA series for him. In 2025, Crews won at Phoenix, Rockingham, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Springfield, and Bristol, building one of the strongest ARCA résumés in recent memory.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (2025–Present)
On January 6, 2025, Tricon Garage announced that Crews would make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in their No. 1 truck. He picked up three top-ten finishes and ended the season 25th in the Truck Series standings. On August 1, 2025, he announced the formation of his own Truck Series team, Brent Crews Motorsports, which debuted later that year.
In 2026, Crews returned to Tricon Garage and has continued to develop his stock on the national stage. He has shown speed on road courses and intermediate tracks alike, working closely with his Tricon crew to refine his race craft at the top level of NASCAR’s development ladder.
Joe Gibbs Racing Era (2025–Present)
Crews’ rise to a national NASCAR ride came on November 24, 2025, when Joe Gibbs Racing announced he would drive the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2026. Because of his age, he sat out four early-season races before returning to the car full-time beginning at Martinsville. He has posted consistent top-ten runs since then, won the Dash 4 Cash bonus following Texas, and scored his first career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series pole at San Diego.
His transition to Joe Gibbs Racing has been marked by steady improvement, polished feedback with his engineer, and growing comfort on ovals and road courses. Crews’ combination of youth, road course background, and dirt track instincts has given the No. 19 team a versatile driver to build around.
Driving Style and Strengths
Crews is widely regarded as a smooth, technically refined driver whose karting and sports car background shows up most clearly on road courses. He is comfortable running close to the wall, working lap traffic, and managing tire falloff over long runs, and his dirt track experience gives him a feel for throttle control in slick conditions. His partnership with his Joe Gibbs Racing engineer has produced consistent qualifying pace, including his first career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series pole at San Diego.
Notable Races and Milestones
Crews’ most memorable performances include his youngest-ever POWRi Midget win at Valley Speedway, his youngest Trans-Am win at Road America, his 2023 Trans-Am TA2 championship-clinching run at Circuit of the Americas, his World Series of Asphalt title at New Smyrna Speedway, and his first NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series pole at San Diego. Signature tracks like Road America, Watkins Glen, and the Illinois State Fairgrounds have produced some of his biggest results.
Brent Crews Career Wins
Crews has built one of the most varied win ledgers of any young American driver, with victories spanning karting, outlaw karts, midgets, Trans-Am sports cars, late models, and ARCA stock cars. While exact win counts vary by series, he is recognized as the youngest champion in Trans-Am TA2 history and one of the youngest national champions in United States karting. He has also earned Rookie of the Year honors in the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour and recorded multiple ARCA victories across its three regional series.
Trans-Am and Late Model Highlights
Across his Trans-Am career, Crews has scored multiple poles and wins at Road America, NOLA Motorsports Park, the Detroit Street Circuit, Watkins Glen, and other iconic venues. In late models, he captured the World Series of Asphalt Super Late Model championship at New Smyrna Speedway in 2024, won the Orange Blossom 100 and Red Eye 100, and tied for the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car wins lead with victories at Orange County Speedway, Caraway Speedway, and Ace Speedway.

Beyond those series, Crews has been a dominant force in karting and outlaw karts, winning multiple national championships and international finals. His 2021 POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series campaign produced his record-setting first midget win at Valley Speedway and three additional victories, reinforcing his standing as one of the most complete young drivers in North America.

While his family’s private life is kept out of the public eye, their backing has been a clear constant as he has moved from local karting events to national NASCAR and ARCA programs. His development through Toyota Racing Development’s TRD pipeline also connects him to a broader manufacturer family of young American drivers.

Outside of the race car, Crews is focused on balancing school with the demands of a national racing schedule. He maintains a public presence through his official channels on X and Instagram, where he shares updates on his racing, team announcements, and behind-the-scenes content with his growing fan base.
2025 Season Performance
Crews’ 2025 season was one of the busiest and most successful of his young career. He split time between his new Brent Crews Motorsports Truck Series team, a part-time Joe Gibbs Racing ARCA program across all three ARCA series, and selected Truck Series starts for Tricon Garage. He added ARCA wins at Phoenix, Rockingham, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Springfield, and Bristol, while also running his own Truck Series operation and finishing 25th in the final Truck Series standings.
Off the track, he was announced as the driver of the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series starting in 2026, signaling a major step up the NASCAR ladder. His combination of Trans-Am polish, ARCA stock car victories, and growing Truck Series experience set the stage for his full-time Cup Series feeder campaign. Heading into 2026, Crews is firmly positioned as one of the most watched young drivers in American motorsports.
