Atlanta Braves Launch BravesVision: New Era in Streaming

As the FanDuel regional sports networks managed by Main Street Sports Group approach their shutdown, several Major League Baseball teams are reassessing their TV broadcasting plans for the 2026 season, including the Atlanta Braves. While many clubs will shift their regional broadcasts under direct MLB supervision, the Braves are taking a different path by creating their own streaming service, BravesVision.

Legacy of Nationwide Coverage Fuels Braves’ Reach

The Braves have historically enjoyed a broad and devoted fanbase, not just limited to Georgia but extending throughout the southern United States and nationwide, a legacy rooted in the era when their games were broadcast via the TBS SuperStation. This wide exposure helped them, along with teams like the Chicago Cubs, cultivate a national following during the heyday of cable television sports.

Launch and Operation Details of BravesVision

Announced on Tuesday, BravesVision will put the team in full control over all aspects of game production, marketing, and distribution. This new platform will offer its content via streaming and through a direct-to-distributor approach similar to what the Texas Rangers have implemented. Although carriers for BravesVision remain to be confirmed, the Braves aim to maximize their audience given their expansive fanbase.

Streaming and Over-the-Air Accessibility Across Multiple States

For the 2026 regular season, in-market fans can access BravesVision broadcasts through Braves.TV without blackout restrictions. Additionally, the team has established partnerships with Gray Media stations to air selected games over-the-air across six states—Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. This coverage will reach cities as geographically diverse as Memphis to the west, Myrtle Beach to the east, and Biloxi to the south, providing free access to a substantial regional audience.

Future Opportunities and Regional Sports Network Collaborations

Earlier reports indicated that the Braves were exploring the option of launching a new regional sports network in collaboration with other professional sports franchises in the area. However, these plans appear paused as the Braves advance with BravesVision independently. As the NBA and NHL seasons conclude, teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, and Nashville Predators are also seeking broadcast homes, which could potentially revive discussions about a shared regional network in the future.
