Suns’ Grayson Allen, Isaiah Livers Injury Update After Break

Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen and two-way forward Isaiah Livers will both undergo medical evaluations after the NBA All-Star break, according to Suns coach Jordan Ott. Allen sustained a knee injury, while Livers is recovering from a left shoulder sprain. The injuries occurred during a recent game against the Golden State Warriors, in which both players exited early.

The All-Star Game is scheduled for February 15, and the Suns will play their next contest on February 19, visiting the San Antonio Spurs. The team hopes to have clearer updates on Allen’s and Livers’ status before resuming play.

Details of Grayson Allen’s Injury Incident

Allen suffered his injury when he landed awkwardly on the foot of Warriors guard Gary Payton II while attempting to grab a rebound with just over three minutes left in the game. Although Allen managed to leave the court without assistance, he promptly went to the locker room and did not return.

In that game, Allen scored 21 points, contributed five rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 33 minutes of action.

Injury History and Season Overview for Allen and Livers

Now in his third season with Phoenix, Allen has appeared in 35 of the Suns’ first 52 games. Earlier this season, he missed time due to a quadriceps injury, illness, and a previous right knee problem. Currently, he is averaging 17 points per game, along with three rebounds and four assists, while shooting 41.8% from the field and 36.9% from beyond the arc.

Livers, a fourth-year professional, suffered a left shoulder sprain during limited game time on Thursday. He has participated in 29 games this season, averaging 2.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per contest.

What Awaits the Suns After the Break

With Allen and Livers set for post-break evaluations, the Suns will closely monitor their recovery as the season progresses. Their health status will play a crucial role as Phoenix aims to maintain competitiveness in the Western Conference. The upcoming matchup against the Spurs will be an early test of the team’s depth and resilience following the All-Star hiatus.
