Patrick Mahomes, NFL Stars Celebrate WAGs in Swimsuit Edition

Several well-known NFL players gathered to honor their significant others as wives and girlfriends featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit digital February edition. The event took place during Super Bowl week in San Francisco, highlighting Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes among the attendees.

At a launch event hosted by Authentic House, held at the three Michelin-starred restaurant Quince, the NFL couples enjoyed a night out celebrating the magazine’s new edition. Brittany Mahomes, who appeared on the magazine’s digital cover, wore a strapless grey dress and revealed a fresh tattoo on her forearm that seems to represent her three children. Patrick Mahomes dressed casually in a black jacket over a white t-shirt with black jeans and silver accents.

Couples Share Moments During the Celebration

Throughout the evening, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were seen close together, sharing photos and supporting each other. Their appearance carries special significance after Patrick recently underwent knee surgery for a torn ACL, which ended his 2025 football season early and places some uncertainty on his 2026 availability.

Brittany’s participation represents more than just a personal milestone, as several other WAGs were also honored in the issue. Included among them were Haley Cavinder, fiancee of Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson; Christen Goff, wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff; Claire Kittle, wife of San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle; Ronika Love, wife of Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love; and Normani, fiancee of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf.

Celebrating Women Beyond Traditional Labels

Sports Illustrated emphasized the broader accomplishments of these women, stating,

“The groundbreaking covers celebrate women who transcend the outdated ‘wives and girlfriends’ label.”

The magazine described them as

“entrepreneurs, athletes, creatives, activists, tastemakers and powerhouses shaping culture far beyond the sidelines.”

Brittany Mahomes, who wed Patrick in March 2022 after a long teenage romance, reflected on the unique challenges of being a WAG. She explained,

“I think being the significant other to an NFL player is an incredibly hard role, and we take on a lot of important stuff behind the scenes that people don’t get to see,”

adding,

“But we also get to enjoy life and do things that we love, too.”

Importance of Recognizing Influence Off the Field

The celebration and recognition of NFL partners highlight their vital roles both behind the scenes and in public life, extending beyond traditional perceptions. As these women continue to impact culture, entrepreneurship, and activism, their visibility encourages a deeper appreciation for their contributions outside the sports arena. This event and digital edition demonstrate a growing acknowledgment within the NFL community of the multifaceted identities of these influential individuals.
