In his first public interview since early December, AJ Brown affirmed his intention to remain with the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2026 season. Appearing on Micah Parsons’ podcast alongside Bryce Young, Brown spoke from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, shortly after the Eagles’ narrow 22-19 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Despite speculation about multiple trade requests throughout the 2025 season, Brown avoided directly addressing those rumors. When given chances to discuss his future, he consistently communicated optimism about continuing his career in Philadelphia, showing no indication of wanting to leave.
Offseason Goals Reflect Commitment and Team Accountability
Micah Parsons asked Brown about the team’s objectives heading into the offseason. Brown’s response revealed a focus on accountability and improvement that aligns with a player committed to the Eagles’ long-term success.
“Yeah, as an offense, we just come back and just really watch the tape and rediscover ourselves and go to work each and every day,
Brown explained.
Being accountable and just taking one day at a time.
He further praised the leadership within the Eagles’ locker room and emphasized the importance of discipline beyond sheer talent.
“We have great leaders in our locker room and I’m fortunate to be a part of that, especially on offense. And we do have a lot of talent, but talent gets us nowhere. So it’s all about being detailed and being disciplined.”
Brown Welcomes Coaching Staff Changes Ahead of 2026 Season
Brown was also questioned about the recent shifts in the Eagles’ coaching personnel, particularly the replacement of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo with Sean Mannion. Without naming individuals, Brown expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season and described change as potentially beneficial.

“You know, sometimes change is not a bad thing. I have the utmost respect for K.P. To me, he did a tremendous job, and he has a great heart. But I’m excited for the season. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
Reflecting on His Time in Philadelphia Since 2022 Trade
Recalling his trade from the Tennessee Titans during the 2022 draft weekend, Brown reflected warmly on his years in Philadelphia, leaving no room for negativity regarding the move or his tenure.
“When I got to Philly, man, Philly welcomed me with open arms,”
Brown said.
“That’s home, man, and I love them. I love the support, I love the accountability, I love everything else that they do. But it just, I love it.
Philly is Philly. You have to be there to understand.”
Season Performance and Personal Growth Amid Disappointments
Although Brown experienced a challenging 2025 campaign, including a slow start and a difficult Wild Card playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers, he still managed to secure his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season, ranking 18th in the league with 1,003 yards.
In candid remarks about his playoff performance, Brown acknowledged the lows without shying away from growth.
“You have good days, you have bad days,”
Brown admitted.
“And unfortunately, that day was a bad day. I know Niners fans are happy, but it was just a bad day. It was a bad day on offense, but you look back on those things and you’re grateful because you’d be grateful for the highs and the lows because you get a chance to rediscover yourself.”
“And I know me personally, I’m excited to get back in the lab and better myself each and every day and grow. And then you see what you see when you see me.”
Insights from the Podcast: Parsons Nearly Joining Eagles
A notable revelation during the podcast was Micah Parsons’ disclosure that he almost became an Eagle before the Dallas Cowboys traded him to the Green Bay Packers. Parsons explained that the deal did not proceed because he insisted on playing alongside defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who was part of the Eagles roster. Since Carter was to be included in the trade, Parsons declined the move.
“To be honest with you, bro, it was very close,”
Parsons revealed.
“It was very close to being the Eagles. Before the Jaelen Phillips (trade), it was me. Yeah, it was me and I was really about to come but there was one person that I had to play with that if he was gone I did not want to be there, and that was Jalen Carter. They wanted a defensive tackle. And they wanted to trade me plus some picks. I don’t really care about the picks, but I’m coming to play next to J.C., you feel me?
So, sorry, Cowboys fans. It really almost happened.”
What AJ Brown’s Commitment Means for Eagles’ Future
Brown’s public expression of dedication to the Eagles signals stability for the team as it navigates coaching changes and aims to rebound after a playoff exit. His focus on discipline, leadership, and personal growth underscores a mindset that could help shape the offense’s development. With Brown embracing the challenge of returning stronger, the Eagles appear poised to build on their talent and leadership for the 2026 season and beyond.
The combination of Brown’s continued presence and the adjustments in the coaching staff could be critical to Philadelphia’s aspirations, potentially impacting roster decisions and game strategies in the offseason ahead.
