The Dallas Renegades added defensive tackle Darrius Moragne to their roster on Wednesday, according to the United Football League’s transaction reports. This move strengthens their defensive line as Moragne brings experience from multiple professional leagues.
Moragne’s Recent Professional Journey
Moragne, standing six foot five and weighing 295 pounds, is 28 years old and hails from Holland, Michigan. In August 2024, he signed with the Houston Roughnecks. During the 2025 season, he participated in nine games, recording eight tackles, including two solo stops and six assists, along with a tackle for loss and a pass breakup.
Before joining Houston, Moragne had a varied career across different leagues. In 2021, he played with the Jousters in The Spring League (TSL), contributing to their run to the Mega Bowl where they fell to the Linemen. The following year, Moragne was selected by the Pittsburgh Maulers in the tenth round of the 2022 USFL Supplemental Draft. With Pittsburgh, he made 16 tackles over five games but was sidelined by injury and later released.
Past Teams and College Background
Moragne initially signed with the San Antonio Brahmas in 2023 before the XFL and USFL merged to form the UFL. He then joined the Arlington Renegades in early 2024 but did not appear in any games and was released in May. A brief stint followed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, where he played two preseason games and logged two tackles before his release in June 2024.
In college, Moragne began at Arizona Western College in 2017, contributing 13 tackles and a sack in nine games for the Matadors. He transferred to Kansas, playing for the Jayhawks from 2018 to 2019. There, he accumulated 45 tackles and 2.5 sacks across 15 games, showing his defensive versatility during his collegiate career.
