Clayton County Tennis Center Supports Pickleball: After a months-long renovation project, the Clayton County Tennis Center is now home to six new pickleball courts. The $600,000 reconstruction project not only includes the new courts for the fast-growing sport of pickleball but also features 15 newly resurfaced tennis courts with new fencing, reflecting a significant investment in the county’s recreational facilities.

The project, which began in January, culminated with a grand reopening on Wednesday, May 29. Clayton County Commissioner DeMont Davis helped celebrate the occasion by presenting a National Tennis Month proclamation, underscoring the importance of the renovations.

“We are getting really involved in the pickleball industry, and this is just beginning,” Davis said, adding, “We’re going to be doing a lot of great things here at the Clayton County International Park at the Tennis Center. We’re hoping folks do come out.”

The renovations at the Tennis Center are part of a broader initiative to upgrade tennis facilities across Clayton County, with the total price tag reaching $1.5 million.
