Alexander Joseph Killorn was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and grew up in Beaconsfield, Quebec, with two sisters. He attended Loyola High School in Montreal, where he played minor hockey with Lakeshore. Killorn advanced his skills in midget AAA hockey for the Lac St. Louis Lions before moving to Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, where he played for two seasons.
