Early Life and Background

DeMarvion Overshown was born on August 13, 2000, in Tyler, Texas. He attended Arp High School in Arp, Texas, where he began to develop his skills in football. As a freshman, he was promoted to the varsity team for the Class 3A district playoffs, playing as an outside linebacker and defensive end. His sophomore year saw him recognized as the All-East Texas Newcomer of the Year while playing as a defensive end. By his junior year, he switched to safety and was named the All-East Texas Defensive Player of the Year, helping his team reach the state semifinals. In his senior year, Overshown had an impressive season, recording 142 tackles, including 14 for loss, along with 5 sacks and 5 interceptions. His performance earned him multiple honors, including first-team All-State selections. Rated as a 5-star recruit, he received 26 scholarship offers from top programs, ultimately committing to the University of Texas at Austin in December 2017.
