Javonte Green (born July 23, 1993) is an American-Montenegrin professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays the shooting guard and small forward positions, stands 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) tall, and weighs 205 lb (93 kg). Green attended Radford University, where he became one of the most decorated players in program history before launching a long professional career that has carried him across Europe and the NBA.
After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft, Green spent five productive seasons overseas in Spain, Italy, and Germany, winning individual awards and reaching a league All-Star Game. Javonte Green was born and raised in Petersburg, Virginia, where he lived until the age of 12 before moving in with his aunt in Alberta, Virginia. He attended Brunswick High School in nearby Lawrenceville, where he played basketball for former Virginia and NBA shooting guard Bryant Stith. Green was also a multi-sport athlete and started at quarterback for the Brunswick football team during his junior and senior years, earning a scholarship offer from James Madison University to play football.
As a senior, Green averaged 18.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 3.1 steals per game and led the Bulldogs to the VHSL Group AA Division 3 state title. He was named first-team All-State and the Virginia Co-Player of the Year. Green committed to Radford University, the only NCAA Division I school to offer him a basketball scholarship.

At Radford, Green developed into a complete wing, entering the starting lineup as a freshman and earning All-Newcomer honors in the Big South Conference. Over four seasons, he grew into a two-way leader for the Highlanders, finishing as the program’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,064), steals (245), and games played (133) and ranking second in career scoring with 1,911 points.

After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft, Green signed with Marín Peixegalego of the Spanish third division, LEB Plata, on September 11, 2015. In his first professional season, he averaged 18 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game, was named LEB Plata Most Valuable Player, helped the club win the LEB Plata championship, and earned All-LEB Plata honors.
Green moved to Italy on July 11, 2016, joining Pallacanestro Trieste of Serie A2 Basket, where he played two seasons and posted averages of 15.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.4 steals in 2016–17 before improving to 18.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and a league-leading 2.3 steals per game in his second year. After a brief stretch with the New Orleans Pelicans, with whom he signed on August 22, 2024, and a buyout on February 20, 2025, Green joined the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 23, 2025.
