Jon Elmore Bio
Jonathan Barrett Elmore, known professionally as Jon Elmore, is an American professional basketball player for the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and playing the point guard position, Elmore has built a versatile career across European leagues and the NBA G League. He is widely recognized for his scoring ability, court vision, and leadership at the point guard position.

Jonathan Barrett Elmore was born on December 20, 1995, in Charleston, West Virginia. He was raised in Charleston by his parents, Gay and Elizabeth Elmore, in a household deeply rooted in basketball tradition. His father, Gay Elmore, was Virginia Military Institute’s all-time leading scorer, and his grandfather, Otmer Elmore, played basketball at West Virginia.

Path to Basketball

Early Career (2015–2019)
Elmore wasted little time making an impact at Marshall. In his first full varsity season, 2016–17, he averaged 19.7 points per game and earned First-Team All-Conference USA honors. He followed that with an even stronger junior campaign in 2017–18, averaging 22.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while leading Marshall to its first Conference USA tournament championship and being named tournament MVP.
That junior season also produced one of the defining moments of his college career. After receiving an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, Elmore led Marshall to a first-round upset of Wichita State, scoring 27 points. As a senior, he became the third player in Marshall history to reach 2,000 career points and, in March 2019, became Conference USA’s all-time leading scorer, passing UTEP’s Stefon Jackson. He was also the conference’s all-time assist leader at the time, and the first NCAA Division I player to record more than 2,500 points and 750 assists.
Marshall Achievements and International Start (2019–2022)
Elmore declared for the 2018 NBA draft without hiring an agent, leaving the door open to return to Marshall, which he did for his senior season. He finished his college career as Marshall’s all-time leading scorer, a mark that stood until 2023. Sioux Falls Skyforce Era (2022–2024)
In October 2022, Elmore signed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League. In his debut season, he played 31 games and averaged 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 26.6 minutes per game. The Skyforce finished the regular season 20-12 and reached the Conference Finals, where they were eliminated by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Elmore signed with the Miami Heat in September 2023 but was waived the same day and returned to the Skyforce. During his second stint with the team, he appeared in only three regular-season games before being traded to the Cleveland Charge on February 2, 2024.
Cleveland Charge (2024)

Elmore returned to the Stockton Kings for the 2024–25 season and won an NBA G League championship in 2025.
