Reynolds attended John Jay High School in San Antonio, where he played as a wide receiver and safety for the Mustangs football team. During his senior year, he recorded 44 catches for 667 yards and made 48 tackles with three interceptions. Over his high school career, he accumulated a total of 102 receptions for 1,859 yards and 22 touchdowns. After high school, Reynolds was rated as a three-star recruit and initially gained interest from several NCAA Division I programs, including Oregon State. However, he signed with Tyler Junior College to further his football career.
